A wedding photo booth checklist for San Diego celebrations

A little coordination helps the booth fit naturally into the reception. Use this checklist when comparing packages or sharing details with your venue and photo booth attendant.

Before you book

Start with the venue and reception timeline

Ask your venue contact about vendor arrival, load-in, setup access, power, and any restrictions on where equipment can go. Share those details when you request a wedding photo booth quote so the setup plan can be discussed before the event.

Choose a location where guests can find the booth without blocking the bar, dance floor, dining area, exits, or photographer’s main sightlines. If the reception is outdoors, ask about wind, shade, weather plans, and a nearby power source.

Work backward from guest arrival

Confirm when the booth should be ready, when the rental should begin, and when the venue needs it packed away. Your package covers booth rental time; coordinate venue access and setup timing separately so everyone understands the schedule.

Choose the keepsakes that suit your reception

Every package includes unlimited sessions, a custom photo overlay, digital sharing, an online gallery, setup, and a professional on-site attendant. Compare the packages to decide whether you want digital keepsakes only or instant prints: Signature and Luxe include prints, and printing can be added to Essential.

Personalize the photo design

Prepare the names, date, colors, or short wording you’d like on the overlay. Keep the text readable at a glance, especially for a small print layout. If you want a custom physical backdrop, plan it as a separate upgrade; it is not included in any package. Digital backgrounds are a software effect, while a physical backdrop is a printed installation.

Make the guest experience easy

Let guests know where the booth is and how they can access their photos. A good spot is easy to approach, has room for groups to gather, and still leaves a clear path through the venue. The attendant can help keep participation moving while you enjoy the reception.

San Diego venue details to share

Whether your reception is coastal, in a hotel ballroom, or at a private event space, share the exact venue, city, event timeline, and any setup instructions. If you’re planning around a La Jolla venue or a Del Mar celebration, those local pages also have practical setup notes.
